Do you know of anyone else getting doubled p5p messages?

I'm getting doubled messages - as far as I can see, they're bugtron
messages.
Paul.
Can I ask, is it new bug [ID ...] messages, or replies with
bug [ID ...]s,
or replies without bug [ID ...]s, or any other particular
noticable factor?

The message text & subject is 100% identical. It took me a few goes before I
noticed that I hadn't just missed the "delete" button. Only the headers
differ.

Paul.

Sorry, what I mean is, the messages that are doubled, do they have any
outstanding peculiarities?

Ah, I see. I didn't notice anything particular. I'll keep an eye out from
now on... (I think they were all bugtron messages - new or replies - but I'm
not sure as my filtering isn't that sophisticated, and my brain definitely
isn't :-)

Perlbug overviews are being consistently doubled. But I just got a general
P5P posting which was doubled, as well, so it's not a purely perlbug-related
problem. But if there is something unusual in the perlbug messages which is
not shared by all (just some) P5P traffic, this may be tickling a bug in the
mailing list software.

But it is very frequent, and very irritating (especially as it seems to be
mostly perlbug messages, which are on my "brief look and delete" list :-)

Paul.

All,

Please excuse the scream at the top, but I'm sure everyone else is as
sick with these double messages as I am hearing about them, time to wave
a flag...

Now then, please bear with me here, I'm not an email/mailing list guru
(has anybody noticed... :-), but I've a couple of mail headers that I'd
like to run past those more experienced than I.

Below are two message headers from a single call to the bugtron robot,
(we'll bundle perlbugtron and bugdb together for now), with a single
output address of 'ref@rfi.net'. Predictably this generated two
separate messages.

OK, the bugtron wants to send out a message to 'ref@rfi.net', and calls
the appropriate Internet:(GBarr - hence the current cc):Mail module to
do so and disappears assuming the single mail has been sent.

Strangely, two messages are recieved, they are both almost identical
(Message-Id (<19990924154902.7263.qmail@tmtowtdi.perl.org>) and To
(richard@tmtowtdi.perl.org), with no Cc or Bcc lines in sight. Where
does the duplicate message come from...?

Having a closer look at the message headers _may_ help:
The original bugtron process 7258, (with a uid of 511), calls the
original qmail process 7264, (in both message1 and message2). All of a
sudden we have two more process ids: 7270 and 7272 to handle the single
email message!

Why?

Is qmail confused, has it recieved a hidden instruction, does anyone
have any ideas why the apparent 'fork'?
