This script prints overloaded instead of custom glob, because the
custom override doesnt work in the presence of overloading:

use File::Glob; # make sure it does not override ours if loaded
  # automatically
BEGIN { *CORE::GLOBAL::glob = sub { warn "custom glob" } }
use overload '<>' => sub { warn "overloaded" };
$o = bless[];
glob $o;

We could fix this by following the VMS path and putting the globbing code in the core. That would solve #93638, too. Or is there a better way?

I'm not totally sure this is a bug. glob and <> are, if I remember
correctly, exactly the same built-in (if we take <> in the glob
acceptance, not in the readline acceptance), and in that case it seems
natural that the more specific (the object overload) takes precedence
over the less specific (the global override).

But this example gives me âcustom absâ:

BEGIN { *CORE::GLOBAL::abs = sub { warn "custom abs" } }
use overload 'abs' => sub { warn "overloaded" };
$o = bless[];
abs $o;
