Getopt::Long wrongly removes '--' with pass_through #17123
Comments
From @jimavThis is a bug report for perl from jim.avera@gmail.com, Getopt::Long should not remove a lone double-dash ("--") when Removing "--" when doing pass_through breaks the subsequent GetOptions #!/usr/bin/perl #@ARGV = ("-a", "-b", "--", "-notanarg"); # works say "Initial ARGV=(", (join ",",@ARGV), ")\n"; # Extract -a if present, passing through the rest say "After pass_through parse, ARGV=(", (join ",",@ARGV), ")\n"; # Parse the remaining args say "Done parsing args, ARGV=(", (join ",",@ARGV), ")\n"; Flags: Site configuration information for perl 5.28.1: Configured by Ubuntu at Sun Mar 31 11:51:22 UTC 2019. Getopt::Long ships with the Perl 5 core distribution but is maintained upstream on CPAN. Can you file this report at https://rt.cpan.org/Dist/Display.html?Name=Getopt-Long or send email to bug-Getopt-Long@rt.cpan.org ? Thank you very much. -- |

This seems to have been addressed by the 2.51 release of Getopt::Long, FWIW. |
