binary checksum #6636
Comments
From foehn@foxmail.comDear Rakudo distributors, Thanks for making Rakudo available. One piece of suggestion -maybe it exists somewhere but I missed- I think it would be great if you could provide a file checksum list along with the released binaries. That should not be difficult and would be particularly helpful when your release is not digitally signed. Thanks. |
From @AlexDanielHello! Thanks for the report. Are you referring to rakudo releases or rakudo star releases? Both don't come with checksums, but rakudo releases *are* digitally signed. Compare: So do we need checksums for both? Or are you OK with just a signature? In which case, maybe rakudo star releases should be signed? On 2017-11-10 09:00:44, foehn@foxmail.com wrote:

From foehn@foxmail.comHi, Thanks a lot for your reply. Sorry for being ambiguous -- I was referring to the rakudo star releases. Yeah, I guess it would be super if you sign or checksum the rakudo star releases, as they are binary installers.
