Confirmed with perl-5.22.-. Pod​::Perldoc is maintained upstream on CPAN. I copied the content of this bug report and opened https://rt.cpan.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=110628.  Closing this ticket.

I thought I had fixed something like this, but it turns out I opened a PR on my own fork... Re-opened the PR in the right place​: briandfoy/pod-perldoc#22
