This distribution creates, at configure time, a .pm file with definitions for all possible overload operations. It has no mechanism to notice that some operators are experimental, so it tries to defined &. in terms of &., which is a syntax error.

I've submitted a patch to use experimental.pm to define the overload on perls with it.
