perl5 has this fancy "-i" flag that does in-place editing, like​:

  perl -pi -e 's/foo/bar/g' things.txt

that modifies things.txt in-place (with an optional backup).

I'd love to have the same sort of thing in perl6​:

  perl6 -pie 's​:g/foo/bar' things.txt
