[META] tickets blocking the release of perl 5.20.0 #12812
Comments
From @rjbsThis meta-ticket will be used to collect tickets blocking the release of perl -- |
From @bulk88I propose #119879 being added since no CPAN RT tickets were ever created and no updated modules released in 1.34 months. JDB the maintainer of the broken modules, never responded to the ticket, which probably means there is no agreement to release new modules, so I think it was closed prematurely. -- |
From @wolfsageShould https://rt.perl.org/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=120692 be added Thanks, -- Matthew Horsfall (alh) |

From @bulk88I'd like to add the following list of my critical tickets for 5.20. 1st part of summary is category of ticket, 2nd is my opinion/status on how easy it is to get into 5.20 https://rt-archive.perl.org/perl5/Ticket/Display.html?id=116296 optimization, one patch unimportant tickets, I do see it being realistic for them making 5.20, I might have time to revist them before Mar 20 2014, or not, if someone other than me really wants these tickets they can add them and/or contribute consensus https://rt-archive.perl.org/perl5/Ticket/Display.html?id=120939 optimization, needs coding by me -- |

From @bulk88https://rt-archive.perl.org/perl5/Ticket/Display.html?id=121721 needs to be reopened and made a blocker until a perldelta is added -- |

I propose that https://rt-archive.perl.org/perl5/Ticket/Display.html?id=121842 be added to this ticket, I don't think we should change the documented behavior of constant subs like that without a deprecation cycle, and I have tested & smoked fix for it ready to go, see the ticket and these smoke results: http://perl.develop-help.com/?b=smoke-me/avar/rv-fix-79908 (The failures are unrelated to the change I made) |

I agree and added it as a blocker. It's better to have all the possible |
