New t/harness makes it almost impossible to test perl. Say: monk:~/perl/perl5.005_57.reg->time ./perl t/harness op/regexp.t op/regexp...........ok All tests successful. Files=1, Tests=689, 29 wallclock secs ( 2.48 cusr + 0.07 csys = 2.55 CPU) 3.25u 0.17s 0:29.74 11.4% monk:~/perl/perl5.005_57.reg->time ./perl t/op/regexp.t > /dev/null 2.51u 0.06s 0:02.57 100.0% Note more than 10x slowdown.
