Subject: a pipe does not work as documented between the backticks
Download (untitled) / with headers
text/plain 2.6k
----------------------------------------------------------------- [Please enter your report here] The pipe ("|") does not work as documented between the backticks (`` or qx//) or in system function. When I try to build a puffy-train between the backticks, only the first command is executed, but without ANY arguments, even if I supply them. It does not give any error message even, like "the pipe is not supported", etc. Example: if we have a program that counts and lists its arguments, called "showargs", then print `showargs x yy zzz`; # works well, prints all of them print `showargs x yy zzz | head`; # says it was given NO arguments [Please do not change anything below this line] ----------------------------------------------------------------- --- Site configuration information for perl 5.00502: Configured by tsoome at Fri Oct 9 20:47:46 EET DST 1998.
