From Gustavo.Banuelos@vlsi.com

I'm in the process of compiling perl 5.005_03 for hpux, and trying to
compile such that the binary will Port Between PA-RISC Versions. I read
in the README.hpux that the "+DAportable and +DS32" flags should be used
as ansic flags. Currently using HP's ansic compiler. I've successfully
compiled without these flags, for the PA-RISC 2.0 platform. The error I
receive comes back as follows:

Checking out function prototypes...
Your C compiler doesn't seem to understand function prototypes.

Configure: FATAL ERROR:
This version of perl5 can only be compiled by a compiler that
understands function prototypes. Unfortunately, your C compiler
  /opt/ansic/bin/cc +DAportable +DS32
doesn't seem to understand them. Sorry about that.

Any ideas/suggestions are welcome.

Thanks and regards.
