Hello there
I need some advice, quite badly...
I need to run cgi-scripts, but it says i need perl, i did a "find" command and the only mention of it was in"/opt/K/SCO/FASTTRACK/2.01d/install/perl", i couldnt run or execute this "perl "file, so decided to download perl from perl.com
I have now got version 5.005_03. It looks like the first time this has been installed so i went straight to the "sh Configure -des" command. When i ran it it gave me the error :
": No such file or directory (error 2)
Configure: ^M: not found
Configure: ^M: not found
Configure: ^M: not found
Configure: ^M: not found
: No such file o /tmp/c224384
"
and then it creates that file(c224384) in the temp directory with a message:-
"OOPS! You naughty creature! You didn't run Configure with sh!
I will attempt to remedy the situation by running sh for you...
", but seems to stop, it doesnt run sh for me....

What have i done wrong.....
I downloaded the file stable.tar.gz, but found that SCO unix ver 5.0.4 Enterprise edition didnt have gzip, to unzip it so i used winzip in windows, and ftp'd it across.
Is this perhaps where i went wrong, do i need to get hold of gzip for unix?

Please Advise
Thank you
D-H Potter
