I tried to configure CPAN's perl-5.6.0 on SunOS 4.1.3_U1 with gcc and failed with the error message:
Use which C compiler? [gcc]
Checking for GNU cc in disguise and/or its version number... cpp: vfork: Interrupted system call
*** WHOA THERE!!! *** Your C compiler "gcc" doesn't seem to be working! You'd better start hunting for one and let me know about it.
The gcc is a newly compiled gcc-2.95.2. It got through configure, make, make install with no error. I assume this gcc is a good one.
Please help, thanks.
