From cook@sightpath.com

This is actually about a bug in perlbug, not in perl.

I recently used perlbug to file a bug report. I got an automated response
that said "Your e-mail has been received by the Perl Bug Squashing Team", etc.

The email header of that automated response had a Message-ID field that was
identical to that of my the email message that contained my bug report.
(Consequently, one of the two messages was suppressed by my mail user agent.)

Also, the From field of the automated response said the message came from me
(which it did not).

The first is the confirmation ticket number. The second, well, I don't
know. I suppose it might be the report. But I didn't get it, because
I drop duplicate message ids. Are we sending out two separate
messages -- both the bug report *and* its confirmation -- under
the same message id!?

Yes, people have been complaining about this problem for some time. I hope
something is being done to fix it.

Yup, Mike Guy sent a couple of mails on this subject too, I don't think
I realised it was dropping the actual reports from getting through.

This may sound daft, but I've been avoiding enabling the revised email
side of things, while everyone was/is in the middle of the latest
release. OK, I'll go do it now.

Ohhhh.. maybe that's why I'm not seeing my own reports either.

Greg
I see several for you in the db. Even if you are not getting the mail,
the 'mail is getting through!'
