From The RT System itself

I think the intention of the Benchmark module is primarily on comparisons
between alternate chunks of code, rather than absolute performance.
It's also assumed that a given call to timethese() would use all strings
or all code refs.

Neither compile time is in the results.

True. People are rarely concerned much with compile time and it is
usually dwarfed by the high run-time repetition count.
